AI can write code now. It can open pull requests, refactor modules, and ship features with minimal human input. The question organisations are not asking enough is simple: when that code fails in production, who is accountable?

This is the question Cleverbit brings to TechTok 2026. Eman Zerafa and Ethan Zammit, both part of Cleverbit’s engineering leadership, will take the stage on 16 September at Hilton Portomaso to unpack what happens to accountability when agents start making development decisions.

Why this question matters to cleverbit

Cleverbit was built around a specific problem: engineering teams in regulated industries, fintech, financial services, and iGaming, are adopting AI coding agents faster than their governance structures can keep up. Speed without control creates exposure. Control without speed creates stagnation. Cleverbit’s approach has always been to solve for both.

Fast is easy. Controlled is hard. We focus on both.

That principle sits at the center of the session Eman and Ethan are delivering. Titled “When the Agent Decides, Who Answers?”, the talk moves past the theoretical debate about AI and software development and into the practical mechanics of oversight. Where do automated controls hold up. Where does human judgement still need to be in the loop. How do engineering teams build an accountability trail that survives an audit, not just a demo.

    What attendees can expect

Eman and Ethan will walk through real examples from Cleverbit’s engineering work, including a live demonstration of what auditable AI-assisted development actually looks like in practice. This is not a session about whether to adopt AI agents. It is a session about what has to be true structurally before an organisation can trust the output of one.

The session is built for CTOs, architects, engineering leaders, and developers who are already living with this problem, whether their organisation has named it yet or not.

    Beyond the session

Cleverbit is not a compliance consultancy. We embed experienced AI engineers alongside your existing team, assess your current AI setup against what regulators expect, and build the systems and evidence trail that compliance depends on. If the questions raised in this session sound familiar, book a call with the Cleverbit team to talk through where your own accountability gaps might be.
